Ordering & Ring Sizing
How do I know my ring size?
For the most accurate fit, we recommend having your finger professionally measured by a jeweller. Ring sizing can vary depending on the width and style of the band, so it is important to confirm your size carefully before ordering.
Do you offer a ring sizing gauge?
Yes. We can supply a ring sizing gauge if you are unsure of your size. This is particularly useful when ordering a custom or personalised ring where getting the correct size before production is important.
What ring sizes do you offer?
Available sizes vary depending on the ring material and design. Many of our rings are available in a wide range of US sizes, including half sizes. The available sizes for each design are shown on the individual product page. We are happy to convert other ring scale sizes for you. If the size you are looking for is not listed please ask as we can likely do a special for you.
Can my ring be resized later?
This depends on the material and construction of the ring. Materials such as tungsten and ceramic generally cannot be resized, while some other ring types may have different options. If you are unsure, please contact us before ordering.
Materials & Handcrafting
Are your rings handmade?
Yes. Our rings are individually handcrafted and finished in Australia. Many designs are made to order, and because we work with natural materials, no two rings will ever be exactly alike.
Are the meteorites, fossils and gemstones genuine?
Yes. We use genuine materials in our jewellery and source our meteorites, fossils, gemstones and minerals from trusted suppliers. We have more than 40 years of experience collecting and working with rocks and minerals and take the authenticity of the materials we use very seriously.
Will my ring look exactly like the photographs?
Your ring will be made in the same design and style shown, but natural materials such as meteorite, opal, gemstones, fossils and wood will vary in colour, pattern and character. These natural variations are part of what makes every handcrafted ring unique.
What ring materials do you work with?
Depending on the design, we work with materials including titanium, tantalum, tungsten, ceramic, copper, Damascus steel, silver and gold, together with inlays such as meteorite, Australian opal, gemstones, dinosaur fossils, ancient woods and other unusual materials. If you are looking for something not shown on our website, please ask — custom designs are one of our specialties.
Custom Rings
Can you create a completely custom ring?
Yes. Custom ring design is a major part of what we do. Your ring can be designed around particular materials, colours, ideas or a story that is meaningful to you. You don’t need to have a finished design in mind — we can help develop the idea with you.
Can I supply my own materials for a custom ring?
In many cases, yes. We can incorporate suitable customer-supplied materials such as wood, sand or soil from a meaningful location, flowers, fabric and other small keepsakes. Contact us first to discuss what you would like to use and we’ll confirm whether it is suitable.
What unusual materials can you put into a ring?
We’ve worked with everything from meteorites and dinosaur fossils to Australian opal, Moldavite, ancient woods and other rare minerals. If you have an unusual idea, ask us — some of our most interesting rings have started with the question, “Can you make this?”
How do I start a custom ring design?
Visit our Custom Ring Design page or contact us with your ideas. Tell us about the materials, colours, style or story you have in mind and we’ll discuss the possibilities with you before your ring is made.
Memorial Jewellery
Can you incorporate ashes into a ring?
Yes. We can carefully incorporate a small amount of ashes into your ring, either visibly within the inlay or more discreetly so they are not immediately noticeable. We can discuss the different options with you before your ring is made.
What other memorial materials can you use?
Along with ashes, we can work with a range of meaningful materials including hair, flowers, fabric, sand or soil and other small keepsakes. If you have something particular in mind, please contact us and we’ll discuss whether it can be incorporated into your jewellery.
What are Heavenly Stars?
Every Rocks & Crystals AU memorial ring includes a small amount of genuine Campo del Cielo meteorite, which we call Heavenly Stars. The meteorite represents the stars above and the idea that those we have lost continue to shine over us.
Heavenly Stars can be omitted if you prefer — simply let us know when ordering.
How much ashes do you need?
We normally request approximately ¼ teaspoon of ashes. They should be securely double-bagged in small zip-lock bags and sent to us in a padded envelope. Full sending instructions and our postal details are provided after your order is placed.
What happens to the ashes you don’t use?
Only a very small amount is required to create your jewellery. Any unused ashes are carefully returned to you after your memorial piece has been completed.
How do you keep my loved one’s ashes safe?
We understand the trust involved when you send something so irreplaceable to us. Memorial materials are carefully identified and handled throughout the process, and we never work on multiple memorial orders simultaneously, ensuring there is no possibility of your loved one’s ashes being mixed with another memorial order.
Can the ashes be visible in the finished ring?
Yes. You can choose to have the ashes visibly incorporated into the design, creating a distinctive natural speckled appearance, or have them incorporated more discreetly. Visible ashes are one of our most popular options, but the choice is entirely yours.

Meteorite, Fossils & Natural Materials
Is the meteorite in your rings genuine?
Yes. We use genuine meteorite in our jewellery. Campo del Cielo is our most commonly used meteorite, with other meteorites such as Aletai, Seymchan, Muonionalusta and Gibeon available for selected designs and custom orders.
What is Campo del Cielo meteorite?
Campo del Cielo is an iron meteorite discovered in Argentina. The meteorite material itself formed billions of years ago during the early history of our solar system, while the meteorite is believed to have fallen to Earth approximately 4,000–5,000 years ago.
We use Campo del Cielo as fragments, dust and, in selected designs, solid etched meteorite.
Are the dinosaur fossils and Megalodon teeth genuine?
Yes. Where a ring is described as containing dinosaur fossil or Megalodon tooth, we use genuine fossil material. Depending on the design, this can include materials such as T-Rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus and other dinosaur fossils, as well as genuine Megalodon tooth.
Because these are genuine natural materials, colour, pattern and appearance will vary from piece to piece.
Are your opals and gemstones genuine?
Yes. We use genuine opal, gemstones and minerals in our jewellery unless a product description specifically states otherwise. Natural variations in colour, pattern and inclusions are part of what makes each handcrafted ring unique.
Will my ring look exactly like the photographs?
Your ring will be made in the same design and style shown, but genuine meteorite, fossils, opal, gemstones and wood naturally vary. The exact colours, patterns and distribution of the inlay will therefore be unique to your ring.
For materials where the variation can be particularly significant, we’re also happy to discuss your preferences before making your ring.
Engraving & Personalisation
Can I have my ring engraved?
Yes. Personalised internal engraving is available as an add-on for many of our rings. You can add names, dates, initials, coordinates, meaningful words, a private message or selected symbols.
How much text can be engraved inside a ring?
The available space depends on the ring size, width and internal surface. As a general guide, approximately 15–30 characters is typical, although longer messages may sometimes be possible using smaller lettering.

What fonts can I choose from?
Most Microsoft fonts are available, giving you a wide choice from clean modern lettering to elegant script styles. If you have a particular font in mind, simply ask and we’ll confirm whether it is suitable for engraving.
Can you engrave symbols as well as text?
Yes. Selected symbols such as hearts can be engraved alongside your wording. More unusual symbols or custom engraving requirements may also be possible — contact us with your idea and we’ll confirm what can be done.
How do I order engraving?
Choose your ring first, then add our Personalised Ring Engraving service to your order. Select either Text Only or Text + Symbols / Custom and provide the exact wording, font and any symbols you would like.
Please check all spelling, dates and coordinates carefully before submitting your engraving.
Production & Made to Order
Are your rings made to order?
Many of our rings are individually made to order in your chosen size, width and design. This allows us to create each piece specifically for the person who will wear it rather than simply supplying a mass-produced finished ring.
How long will my ring take to make?
Production time varies depending on the design, materials and level of customisation required. Most rings are completed within approximately 2–3 weeks, although complex custom designs may take longer.
If you need your ring for a particular date, please contact us before ordering and we’ll let you know what is realistically possible.
Can you rush an order?
Sometimes. Whether we can accommodate a shorter timeframe depends on the ring design, materials required and our current workload. Please contact us before ordering if you have a wedding, anniversary or other important date approaching.
Where is my ring made?
Our rings are individually handcrafted and finished in Australia. We work with each piece ourselves, from preparing and placing the inlay materials through to finishing and final inspection.
Can I see my ring before it is sent?
If you would like to see your finished ring before dispatch, simply ask. We can provide photographs of your completed piece before it is carefully packed and sent to you.
Shipping & Delivery
Do you ship throughout Australia?
Yes. We ship orders throughout Australia. Shipping options and costs are displayed at checkout based on your order and delivery address.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship our jewellery to customers around the world. Available shipping options and costs will be calculated at checkout for your destination.
Will my order have tracking?
Where a tracked shipping service is selected or provided, tracking details will be sent once your order has been dispatched so you can follow its journey.
How long will delivery take?
Delivery times vary depending on your location and the shipping service selected. Please remember that the delivery estimate is in addition to the time required to handcraft your ring or jewellery.
International deliveries may also take longer due to customs processing in the destination country.
Will I have to pay customs duties or import taxes?
International import requirements vary depending on the destination country and may include customs duties, tariffs, taxes or other import charges.
For orders shipped to the United States, applicable US import duties are currently required to be paid before the parcel is dispatched. These charges are included within the US shipping fee shown at checkout, so there should be no separate import duty payment required from you when your order arrives.
For customers in other countries, import duties or taxes may be payable depending on local regulations. As these requirements can change, orders will be handled in accordance with the import rules applying to the destination at the time of shipping.
Returns, Exchanges & Order Changes
Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?
If you need to change your order, please contact us as soon as possible. If we have not yet started making or personalising your item, we may be able to make changes or cancel the order.
Once work has begun on a made-to-order, custom or personalised item, changes or cancellation may no longer be possible.
Can I return or exchange my ring?
Return and exchange options depend on the type of item purchased and whether it has been made, customised or personalised specifically for you.
Please refer to our Refund & Returns Policy for full details, or contact us before ordering if you have any questions.
Can personalised or engraved rings be returned?
Because personalised and engraved rings are created specifically for you, they cannot normally be returned or exchanged simply because you have changed your mind.
This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or otherwise covered by your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
What if there is a problem with my order?
Please contact us as soon as possible. If something isn’t right with your order, send us your order details along with photographs where appropriate and we’ll work with you to resolve the issue.
What if I order the wrong ring size?
Please check your ring size carefully before ordering, particularly for tungsten and ceramic rings, which generally cannot be resized.
If you realise you have selected the wrong size, contact us as soon as possible. If production has not yet started, we may be able to change it. Once a made-to-order ring has been produced, the available options will depend on the particular ring and circumstances.
Care & Maintenance
How should I care for my ring?
To keep your ring looking its best, avoid exposing it unnecessarily to harsh chemicals, cleaning products or abrasive materials. Remove your ring before activities where it may be subjected to heavy impacts or excessive wear.
Because we work with many different materials, some rings may have specific care requirements. Please contact us if you’re unsure how best to care for your particular ring.
Can I wear my ring in water?
This depends on the materials used in your ring. While occasional contact with water is unlikely to affect many of our designs, we recommend removing rings containing materials such as meteorite, wood or other natural inlays before swimming, showering or prolonged exposure to water.
Does meteorite require special care?
Meteorite contains a high proportion of iron and can develop surface oxidation if repeatedly exposed to moisture, salt or harsh chemicals. We recommend keeping meteorite jewellery dry where practical and wiping it with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
If you notice any change in the finish of your meteorite ring, please contact us for advice.
Will a copper ring turn my finger green?
Copper can naturally react with moisture, skin oils and individual body chemistry, occasionally leaving a green mark on the skin. This is a normal characteristic of copper and is generally harmless.
The reaction varies considerably from person to person — some people experience it while others never do. It does not mean that the copper is poor quality or that there is anything wrong with your ring.
Can my ring be refinished or repaired?
Depending on the material and construction, we may be able to refinish, repair or restore certain rings. If your ring has been damaged or has developed wear over time, send us some photographs and we’ll let you know what options may be available.
